Recently, I was at Burger King in Coynes Cross, Co. Wicklow.

Because of my allergies, I can only eat chips from Burger King. However, when I was in Spain a few months ago, they had a dedicated GLUTEN-FREE section of their menu, featuring alternative version of many classics, including the Whopper! I’m shocked that they don’t have anything like that here.

Continuing on, I ordered a portion of chips and the caramel sundae. The receipt printer at the order screen didn’t work.

As a side note, this Burger King is pretty inconsistent when it comes to the quality of their food. Some days, it’ll be reheated junk, but on others it will be absolute perfection. Regardless, we’re here to talk about the sundae and the sundae only.

The sundae came served in a plastic cup, which was unexpected considering the switch to paper from more well-known fast-food restaurants like McDonald’s.

It was so sweet that I didn’t taste any flavour until I had swallowed it. It felt like putting a mixture of ice and sugar in your mouth at the same time. The only thing that redeemed it for me was the caramel, which was pretty adequate in taste.

I didn’t have time to finish it, so my rating may be a little off, but I rate the caramel sundae a 4.5/10. I will not be getting it again.
